About us

Chocolat’s beginnings were in a small, long-established shop on Arlosoroff Street in Jerusalem’s Rehavia neighborhood. It  focused primarily on selling the world’s finest chocolates (such as Daskalides and Valrhona), plus excellent French patisserie.

Nowadays, Chocolat is located opposite the Mammilla Hotel on Hamelech Shlomo Street, and operates as a café too. It is headed by the owner, Stefan Ben-Shoshan, who brought on board a pastry chef who graduated from the renowned Lenôtre Culinary School in Paris. Stefan offers Jerusalemites a range of delightful dishes and desserts, wines, fine coffee, chocolate drinks and dozens of types of pralines from Belgium and France.

Besides breakfasts, pastas, quiches and salads, guests enjoy the café’s flagship dishes – cheese-filled éclairs served with Béchamel sauce, the platter of French cheese, blinis with smoked salmon, herring in a crème fraiche sauce, Salade Parisienne, and many other delicacies ...

Chocolat’s elegant decor was designed with warm tones imparting a European atmosphere. There are two floors – the ground-floor shop where you can dine alongside the chocolate shop and watch events in  the open kitchen, and the second floor where you can relax on the huge comfortable couch. On the second floor, Chocolat arranges and hosts small-scale events for up to 18 guests.
